Concert à la carte at the University of Iowa

Mirror Visions Ensemble brings its imaginative, food-inspired program Concert à la carte to the new Voxman Building at the University of Iowa on Sunday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the hall's inaugural season. The concert features soprano Vira Slywotzky, tenor Scott Murphree, and baritone Jesse Blumberg, together with composer and pianist Richard Pearson Thomas, violinist Naho Parrini, and cellist Alberto Parrini.

The program includes three commissions by Mirror Visions Ensemble celebrates the pleasures of dining with works by composeres including Leonard Bernstein, Cole Porter, and Stephen Schwartz, culminating in Clean Plates Don't Lie by Richard Pearson Thomas, based on the writings and menus of renowned chef Dan Barber of Blue Hill Restaurant.

The following afternoon, Monday, February 27 at 3:30 p.m., University of Iowa vocal performance students perform for and coach with members of MVE in a collaborative masterclass setting.
